NDP Energy and Natural Gas Critic
Kathleen Ganley was first elected to the legislative assembly of Alberta in 2015. She served as Minister of Justice and Solicitor General from 2015-2019 and as Minister of Indigenous relations in 2015. She was re-elected representing the riding of Calgary Mountain View in 2019 and currently serves as the Energy Critic for Alberta’s NDP.
Ganley gave birth to her daughter Wren in 2017, becoming the first Justice Minister in Canada to give birth while in office. Prior to being elected Ganley worked as a labour and employment lawyer in Calgary. She holds a BSc in psychology, BA honours in philosophy, and a JD. She has always been an active volunteer, enjoying everything from coaching synchronized swimming to stage managing community theatre productions.
