European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E)
Nino Vakhtangishvili has extensive experience in electricity market design and policy development in Europe and Canada. In her current position as a Market Specialist on the Market team of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E), she supports 39 European Transmission System Operators (TSOs) from 35 countries in all areas related to the development of market mechanisms with the focus on the ancillary services and electricity balancing market.
Before her current role, Nino worked on the Market Design teams of the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) and Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), where she was involved in various market design initiatives such as the Market Renewal Program in Ontario and the development of the design recommendations for Alberta’s competitive wholesale energy market.
Nino earned her double master’s degree (MSc and MA) in International Economics and European Economic Policy from Warsaw University (Poland) and the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium). She earned her bachelor’s degree (BSc) in International Economics in Ukraine.
